Right, we?ve decided we want to see this forum used for its intended purpose: as a place to inform and a place for dialog. So, a major update has taken place and we are serious when we say go grab a coffee because there is lots to read. Here is what is new in the forum and on the website:
1. Some rules have been added for using the forum. See: ?Forum Help? in How to use the "Friends of Egmont" forum.
2. We have added two new forums:
Friends of Egmont - Read only. Here we have posted all FOE updates sent out in the last six months. We will add future updates within a few days of them being sent out on the mail list. As well, we are posting all updates submitted by Glenn Krahulic who volunteered to participate in talks between PNW, LWBC and the SCRD over Egmont Point.
Documents - Read only. Here, we will post any documents that come our way that we feel the public deserves to read. We begin with an eye-opener from consultant Greg Lindros to LWBC on behalf of Pacific North Woods Company. We definitely encourage you to peruse this one.
3. In Annoucements, see: ?Inquiry Requested.? Let?s see if a new provincial Liberal government regulatory body will follow through on its mandate and if it has any teeth. Or, if everyone looking at the logging over yonder is just really stupid.
4. New pictures have been added. First, there is a .pdf file on the website intro page: ?Egmont Point Logging.? We wanted a format that we could send out if need be to show recent logging along the ridge towards Egmont Point. Secondly, lots of new pics including aerial shots taken in March have been added to the gallery under ?Final Cuttings.? This new album contains images on four pages. (www.ravagedegmont.com/gallery/). We have just received some great shots from inside the Inlet and hope to have those posted within a week.
Finally, it is you the reader who will decide if this is worth all the effort. If you are upset by what you see across the way (the logging) then write/e-mail/call those people who can do something about it. If you are upset by what you see here, then tell us by posting in the forums or e-mailing us. Remember, ?squeaky wheels get the oil? and if PNW is the only one squeaking in the government?s ear then guess who the government is going to listen to ? not you! |
